Future company development
At its strategy meeting in October, the Board of Directors of Kursaal Interlaken Holding AG
took key decisions on the future development of the company.
Further development of strategic leadership
After the Boards of Directors of the holding company and the subsidiary CKI AG
were merged last year were merged last year, the Kursaal will continue to streamline the boards as a first step.
In a second step, the Board of Directors of Casino Interlaken AG will also be integrated at the next Annual General Meeting.
As the fundamental decisions will in future be made by one Board of Directors and thus at one table, further interfaces will be eliminated,
which will lead to an increase in efficiency. The Boards of Directors of both subsidiaries will each be made up of several members
of the full Board of Directors, who will deal with their business areas in greater depth.
Urs Kessler, who as a member of the Board of Directors has already played a key role in developing the new strategic guidelines,
will take over as Chairman of the new Board of Directors from 1 July 2025. The Kursaal is delighted to welcome Urs Kessler,
a proven expert in tourism in tourism, corporate management and marketing, who is ideally suited to implementing the upcoming changes. Stefan Schmutz will step down from the Board of Directors with effect from this date.
Terrestrial casino
Now that the licence has been secured for the next 20 years, a fundamental renovation of the casino is on the agenda.
This was already part of the concession procedure and must now be implemented. In terms of overall operational optimisation, this will also involve a change of location within the Kursaal site. The Kursaal is therefore immediately starting planning work for the relocation and renovation of the casino in the former Spycher. This approach will allow the casino without interrupting operations. In a second step, the west wing that is freed up as a result will be converted into a catering facility that will serve all business areas.
One Company
Under the motto ‘One Company,’ the Board of Directors is fostering closer collaboration between the Congresses and Events and Casino divisions. Employees, management, and the Board of Directors see themselves as a unified entity, bringing the vibrant premises to life through diverse activities. Together, they form an integral part of the Kursaal and its various businesses, with the shared goal of offering customers and guests a compelling overall experience. By strengthening synergies and focusing on qualitative growth, the Board aims to ensure
the long-term profitability and sustainable success of the Kursaal and its enterprises.
The structures have been rationalised and streamlined. This organisational realignment will be completed
at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. In continuation of the path already taken and with a new dynamic,
the aim now is to breathe more life into these structures and continuously advance the Kursaal Interlaken
as a company as a whole. The Board of Directors and management are looking forward to tackling these challenges together.
